@chris_wgsanders Do you see there being a distinction between businesses being targeted because they're Jewish owned versus being targeted because of a link to weapons manufacturing?
The second argument is based on an assumed acceptance of the premise that the proscription is legitimate...
If the UK Government believes those protesting against the atrocities in Gaza are terrorists, but those killing children should be supported and provided with weapons, then this Government has not only lost its way, it has lost its conscience.
Don’t look away. Since the start of the Israel-Iran war 7 days ago, over 400 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed, many shot while seeking food. It's unconscionable that Netanyahu has not allowed international orgs to resume food delivery.
The weaponization of food must end.
The Palestinian people will never forget who stood firm with us on matter of principle, before it was fashionable to condemn the ongoing genocide. Thank you, @GaryLineker, for your principled voice.
The BBC has refused to broadcast a documentary it commissioned - on the Israeli assault on Gaza's healthcare system.
History will record that Britain's national public broadcaster helped legitimise one of the great crimes of our age.
No forgetting, no forgiving.
There isn’t even a pretence that Palestinian life has any worth.
If they were honest, Israel’s cheerleaders should just say: “I don’t think Palestinian life matters at all compared to Israeli life.”
They don’t, because it’d mean admitting to being violent racists.
Today Israeli forces killed 51 and wounded over 200 people seeking food in Khan Younis.
This massacre alone should provoke outrage and action from world leaders, but they are happening almost daily with little reaction.
We mustn't allow unconscionable cruelty to be normalised.
British journalist Peter Oborne confronted BBC Director of News Content, Richard Burgess, following a new report confirming longstanding concerns: the BBC is guilty of severe media bias and silencing Palestinian voices. Oborne accused the BBC of complicity in Israeli genocide and of echoing Israeli propaganda, deceiving the British public by withholding the truth.
The death toll from yesterday’s massacre in Gaza has reached 100.
One. Hundred. People.
One hundred human beings, murdered—just like that—by soldiers who kill for sport. They shoot and shell starving civilians desperate for aid. Fuck Israel.
Israelis are (I swear) describing their unprovoked, unilateral attack on Iran as proof that Israel stands at the vanguard of western civilization, fighting the good fight against the forces of fanatacism. Iran is "radical", just like Hamas, whereas Israel is moderation incarnate and must therefore take on those pesky radicals for the benefit of the world.
What's interesting is that this works both ways - as a self-generated illusion and as a factual truth. The illusion casts the global north as "moral" by default. Everyone else can, at best, hope to be thought of as "suspect". And so Israel casts itself as the bearer and guardian of this axiomatic morality.
The truth is that the fiction of morality is one of the most primary tactics in the western arsenal. The claim for supremacy is not exclusively Israeli. Israel is, however, taking it to an unprecedented level of vileness by not even pretending to deny its existential contempt for those it perceives as beneath Israeli standards. The Palestinians are the immediate victims, punished most severely. But as Israel's rampage through Iran reveals, no one is immune. When Pep Guardiola confessed his fear for his children he was mocked by Israelis. I think fewer people are laughing now.

I oppose all nuclear weapons and believe in a nuclear-free Middle East as part of a nuclear-free world.
Today I called on the Foreign Secretary to address Israel’s nuclear weapons arsenal – thought to include at least 90 nuclear warheads.
There must be no double standards.
