Groundhog Day is one of the most beloved films ever made. And yes, Andie MacDowell is cute and charming. But that is not why it hits a chord thirty years later with people who can’t quite explain why they keep rewatching it.

The reason is Aristotle. And almost nobody knows it.

1. Phil Connors wakes up on February 2nd. Again. And again. Infinitely. No consequences, no memory from others, no tomorrow. He has been given what every hedonist, every utopian, every system that promises liberation through freedom from constraint has always promised: complete freedom from accountability. The result is not paradise. It is the most precise laboratory experiment in the history of cinema – what does a human being actually become when freed from all consequences?

2. He tries pleasure first. Eats everything, seduces women, steals money. It works, briefly, the way soma works. Then it stops working, the way soma always stops working. He tries knowledge — learns piano, French poetry, ice sculpture — not yet for virtue, but for manipulation. Still instrumental. Still empty. Then he tries suicide. Repeatedly. The groundhog always wakes him. The void cannot be escaped. It can only be filled.

3. This is Aristotle’s laboratory. Not theoretical – experimental. Eudaimonia (read below) cannot be purchased, stolen, or stumbled into. It is not a feeling. It is not a peak experience. It is the condition that results from becoming, through practice, the kind of person capable of it. Phil has infinite time and zero character at the start. The loop is not his prison. It is his curriculum.

4. The turn is the most important moment in the film and the easiest to miss. Phil stops trying to escape the loop and starts trying to improve within it. He learns piano not to impress anyone – nobody will remember tomorrow. He helps people not for reward – there is none. He becomes good with no audience, no record, no consequence. This is virtue in its purest Aristotelian form: the action done for its own sake, repeated until it becomes character.

5. Rousseau would say Phil is naturally good and the loop is oppressing him. The film says the opposite: left completely free, with no social pressure, no consequences, no system to blame, Phil reveals everything that needs work before anything worth keeping emerges. The loop doesn’t corrupt him. It shows him to himself. That is the most anti-Rousseau statement in popular cinema – and nobody noticed, because Bill Murray is just very funny.

6. He falls in love with Rita not by manipulating her — he tried that, it failed spectacularly — but by becoming someone worth loving. You cannot love your way to virtue. You can only become virtuous and discover that love becomes possible. The film gets the causality exactly right – which almost no film does.
Virtue gets you true love.

7. The loop ends when Phil has become genuinely good – not performing goodness, not strategically good, but actually virtuous through ten thousand repetitions of the right choice with no reward attached. Aristotle said virtue is a habit formed through practice. Groundhog Day is the proof of concept. The film hits a chord because everyone senses, somewhere beneath the comedy, that this is how it actually works – that there is no shortcut, no hack, no liberation through freedom from consequence. Only the truth of it. Only the practice. Only becoming, slowly and without an audience, the person you were supposed to be.

🔥 TRUMP JUST REPOSTED JFK’S MOST TERRIFYING SPEECH — AND THE DEEP STATE IS PANICKING

JFK saw it coming. In 1961. And now, Trump has just made sure 300 million Americans see it, too.

The speech everyone’s talking about: Kennedy’s address to the American Newspaper Publishers Association, April 27, 1961. The CIA had just botched the Bay of Pigs. Kennedy was livid. He’d been lied to by his own intelligence apparatus. And he walked onto that stage and said something no president has dared say since.

“We are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence — on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice.”

Read that again. Monolithic. Ruthless. Conspiracy.

This wasn’t some fringe radio host. This was the sitting President of the United States, on live television, telling the American people that a shadow network of power — operating through intelligence agencies, media complicity, and institutional capture — was working against the republic itself.

And then he said the quiet part out loud:

“Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried, not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed.”

Sound familiar?

Sixty-five years later, Trump drops this video on Truth Social. No commentary needed. The speech does all the work. And within hours, the same media outlets that spent four years calling Trump a conspiracy theorist are suddenly very quiet.

Here’s what they don’t want you to connect:

- Kennedy was assassinated 2.5 years after this speech

- The Warren Commission was a joke — even the House Select Committee on Assassinations in 1979 concluded Kennedy was “probably assassinated as a result of a conspiracy”

- The files are STILL classified

- Trump has been pushing to release them, but the permanent national security state refuses, instead slow-walking the order

The timing isn’t random. This isn’t just history. JFK described a permanent national security state that has only grown more entrenched — one that operates beyond elections, beyond accountability, beyond the reach of voters.

Kennedy called it “a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific, and political operations.”

That machine didn’t disappear when he died. It got even stronger.

Trump reposting this isn’t nostalgia. It’s a signal. The same forces JFK warned about are the same forces that tried to destroy Trump — Russiagate, two impeachments, lawfare, media blackout, assassination attempts. The playbook hasn’t changed. Only the names.

And now the sitting president just reminded the country who the real enemy has always been.

The speech that scared them then is the speech they’re terrified you’ll watch now.

It’s a sad day when you see a brilliant mind begin to drift because it refuses to place itself under the full authority and Kingship of Jesus Christ.

The darkening of the intellect, when it touches an otherwise extraordinary mind, is something we should deeply grieve and pray earnestly for.

Imagine what Jordan’s mind could become, if it was wholly placed under the Kingship of Christ.

He’d be an absolute force!

Please pray for Jordan. His intellect and ability to think is a profound gift from God. It’s helped bring many people, including myself, out of some of the darkest places the human mind can descend into.

We don’t abandon people when we believe that they have become confused. Especially not those of whom we have already witnessed God accomplishing a great amount of good through.

We never abandon men that we owe a debt to. And to Jordan, in many ways, many of us do owe at least a bare minimum of gratitude towards him, for the force that he was in a very critical time in our country.

The fix was subtraction.

Out went the sugar. Out went the refined flour. Out went the processed food. Poser's line on it was blunt: sugar is the worst thing there is for a muscle.

In came olive oil, fish, whole food, water.

Messi drops around three kilos that were never meant to be there. The sickness stops. The following season he scores 58 goals and wins the treble.

The best footballer alive spent his early career quietly poisoned by the same processed, sugared, refined-flour diet a whole generation of children was raised to think was normal, and got well the week a man took it off his plate.

I have to hand it to Phillip Campbell for arriving at the most helpful "big picture" analysis I've seen of the different logical possibilities for Christian worship, why each is coherent in its own way, and why the Novus Ordo settles uncomfortably among all of them. Here's an excerpt (but please head over and read his entire piece, where you'll find the diagrams he's referencing):

« You may be thinking that the central location of the Novus Ordo makes it ideal, as it avoids the extremes often found at the further ends of the quadrants. From the perspective of engaging worship, however, I do not think this placement is ideal. People come to worship looking for something specific—what that is varies, but they all are hoping to find a type of worship that prioritizes what they value. The Novus Ordo sits in a place where it has a little bit of everything but avoids committing to anything: It retains a very basic structure while also permitting enough optionality for it to change drastically depending on the celebrant; it retains enough of the transcendent orientation implicit in the canon of the Mass, but also does everything possible to elevate the place of the community. It tries to please everybody and ends up pleasing nobody; it paints with such a broad brush that no one is entirely sure what they are looking at. In seeking to be all things to all men, it spreads itself too thin and fails to communicate any specific spiritual value with enough clarity to be compelling. Sure, a celebrant can nudge it further along into one or the other quadrants by the options chosen, but this ultimately confirms to the rite's inherent malleability.

The lesson of the Worship Compass is that worship attracts people by committing to a set of spiritual values and embodying them without apology. The TLM knows exactly what it is; so does the Pentecostal revival meeting; so, for that matter, does the Episcopal parish with the rainbow flag. People sense this coherence intuitively, which is why the pipelines run where they do: the charismatic disillusioned with wackiness but still hungry for transcendence finds a home among the trads; the progressive Episcopalian drifts toward the megachurch or the base community as his horizontalism sheds its remaining formality. Movement across the compass follows values, and values are only legible where worship states them plainly.

This is also why the center is the loneliest place on the map. A liturgy that hedges on every axis asks the worshipper to supply the meaning himself, and most will eventually go looking for a community that supplies it for them. This is why the stock remedy to the problems of the Novus Ordo is always "more catechesis": the NO requires the worshiper to be intensively catechized to understand it because the rite itself doesn't commit to any quadrant of values. The worshiper is expected to bring his own meaning. Whatever one makes of my particular placements (and I concede they are drawn from a trad's vantage point) I think the compass is useful because it explains movement, not just position. Christians rarely convert across the diagonal; they migrate along the axis of shared values from one quadrant to the next. In this sense, the directional "flow" of the pipelines over time reveal which spiritual values a person is starving for. »

The Atlantic just ran a piece called "The Age of Reading Is Over." We are literally losing the ability to read anything longer than an Instagram post. This is not good. Think about history for a second. During the slave trade, what was the one thing punishable by death? Teaching a slave to read. Why? Because tyrants have always known that literacy is the ultimate key to human freedom.

Less than half of American adults read a single book in 2022. It’s so bad that a staffer at Harvard actually complained that assigning books to students is "arbitrarily withholding information" because it forces them to use a "difficult medium." Let that sink in. IVY LEAGUE STUDENTS have a hard time reading something and then paraphrasing it.

If we stop reading, we go straight back to the dark ages. We'll be sitting around waiting for a government agency or an AI script to tell us what the Constitution means through a paraphrased post on X.

You said police "didn't even question" Lance Twiggs. He was interviewed twice. FBI the morning after. Joint state-federal team seven months later. His own attorney. Voluntary phone surrender. You laughed when you said it.

You told Shawn Ryan a shaped charge killed Charlie. That PETN was in his microphone. The medical examiner says gunshot wound. Bullet fragments were recovered from his body. A .30-06 Mauser with Robinson's DNA was found in the woods. Neither side — not prosecution, not defense — has mentioned explosives. Not once in four days.

You said the shot came from below. The Losi building is above the amphitheater.

You called Erika Kirk a "clinical psychopath" to an audience of millions. You said the assassination was "an occult ritual." You said Charlie was "sitting in a pentagram." You told people Israel killed him because he refused Netanyahu.

You made over a hundred episodes. You built a franchise on a dead man's name.

And the hardest fact of all: Tyler Robinson's own defense lawyers — the people whose entire career is on the line to get him acquitted — have refused to make a single one of your arguments. Not one. They're challenging DNA methodology. They are doing their jobs. You were doing something else entirely.

Charlie Kirk changed my life. He platformed my work when nobody knew who I was. He had my back when I was doxxed. I was the ten-thousandth most important person in his world and I will never be able to repay him.

So I did what I know how to do. I read every transcript. I watched every hour of testimony. I cataloged your claims and I held them up against what was said under oath.

Every single one failed.

I don't know why you did this. I'm not going to speculate on your motives, because that would make me exactly the kind of analyst I've spent my career refusing to be. But I know what you did. You told people confident lies about a dead man's murder, and millions of them believed you, and some of them turned that belief into threats against his widow.

The trial continues. And every day of sworn testimony is another day your words get tested against reality... under oath, on the record, where it counts.

I'll be here for all of it... because just as Charlie defended me, I will do what little I can to defend his legacy and @TPUSA and @MrsErikaKirk from evil.
