Exchanges: The Interdisciplinary Research Journal

Bluesky: peer-reviewed, early career researcher journal, based at U.Warwick.

[Exchanges: The Interdisciplinary Research Journal @ExchangesIAS]

Just a reminder to all, we're increasingly migrating from Twitter/X to Bluesky. Link in the bio if you're heading over there too.

Fun fact: If you listened to all the episodes of the Exchanges Discourse Podcast back-to-back...it would now officially take you a whole day to complete them at normal speed. 😀

Started the day with another early morning meeting with editors around the world (Hello the Netherlands and Taiwan). Great way to start the day catching up, and comparing weather at the same time (sunny, with mists clearing here!)

[Exchanges: The Interdisciplinary Research Journal @ExchangesIAS]

Well, that meeting turned into a long debate on the merits of teaching and marking in HE as much as it was about publishing, so a fascinating session!

[Exchanges: The Interdisciplinary Research Journal @ExchangesIAS]

Early start as it's a team meeting with my lovely Australian based special issue editors to kick off the day in a few minutes.

As a side note Exchanges charges ZERO fees and authors retain moral & economic rights in their published works.

[Exchanges: The Interdisciplinary Research Journal @ExchangesIAS]

Reading about the ACS' 'article development charge' of U$2,500. Not for publication, just on submission of an article which may get rejected. AND they get to claim economic rights in the author's writing too.

Wow. That's some special kind of greedy behaviour from a published.

Great podcast recording with a fantastic guest. But then, they're all fantastic really. That episode will be with you next week!

[Exchanges: The Interdisciplinary Research Journal @ExchangesIAS]

For a change of pace today, recording another episode of the Exchanges podcast.

And with luck, releasing the previous new episode this afternoon!

Good that so many of our authors want to talk with us!

Loved Harriet's advice to add a section on your ORCID profile on what you're happy to review. Handy tool for editors (and reviewers) alike!

[Exchanges: The Interdisciplinary Research Journal @ExchangesIAS]

Lovely session with Harriet Richmond this morning as part of the LMD's early stage researcher training in publishing, editing & reviewing. My contribution as always was a pleasure to add in! Thanks to all delegates for their kind attention!

Excellent - the DOIs on the new issue of Exchanges are all working now. Our thanks to the Library for a swift fix!

[Exchanges: The Interdisciplinary Research Journal @ExchangesIAS]

@MRCWarwick As a bonus, the episode runtime is slightly shorter than 5 decades 😀
