It was a wonderful opportunity to read to the children at New York Therapy Placement Services in Port Jefferson Station yesterday. NYT is a driven community of essential therapy providers for young children with developmental disabilities.
Suffolk County Fred’s is coordinating the response to three major brush fires on the East End. We are working with the town of Southampton closely. The National Guard is also involved in water drops that began sometime ago. Sunrise highway remains closed past exit 58.

Today, I gathered with Jewish and non-Jewish community leaders alike to mark the one-year anniversary of the October 7 terrorist attack against Isreal. Let us not forget that there are still hostages awaiting release and we must keep their names alive, and we pray for peace.
EXTENDED HOURS AT SMITH POINT BEACH
Swimming at Smith Point County Park is extended for two weekends past Labor Day until September 15. Lifeguards are on duty from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on September 7-8 and September 14-15. Enjoy the rest of the summer and please be safe.

I have declared a State of Emergency for Suffolk County. Suffolk County departments have been deployed to various locations throughout the County to assess flooding impacts and damage to our roadways and communities. Please stayed tuned for further updates.
