Students from the University of Exeter have recently returned from the 2025 Summer School "Linguistic Landscapes: Using Signs and Symbols to Translate Cities" at Venice International University.
From street signs to graffiti, shopfronts to public art, students examined the semiotics of city spaces, engaging with real-world data and contemporary issues like identity, diversity, activism and inclusion, all against the stunning backdrop of Venice! 🇮🇹
… and much more! It was a day full of ideas, energy and inspiration and a real testament to the power of collaboration in language education.
