Whether AI is currently being sufficiently evaluated remains legitimately under debate. Hope this pre-print shows how the evidence-base for AI could be improved through carefully collection of data as part of post-marketing surveillance.

This was a hard slog, but the results are important. There are many aspects of HTAs of tests which are inconsistent between national HTA organisations. Taking into account claims of tests is one. Most do, but few use these to systematically and transparently guide the HTA process
@RoxanaDaneshjou @jd_wilko @whria78 @theJIDJournal If the only outcome is accuracy it is debatable whether this an RCT. A comparative accuracy study might be a better description based on the description in the abstract at least.
Currently teaching our med students about tests. Often wonder whether I am doing more harm than good by cramming formulae for sensitivity etc. Exploring whether understanding of test accuracy results by direct engagement with 2x2 table might work. Thoughts welcome
