1. The limits of brain-centric science — less than 0.0001% of the brain's microscopic wiring has been mapped. Hoffman's math fills a gap that research hasn't closed.
2. The hard problem of consciousness — 325+ competing theories, and no scientific consensus on how subjective experience arises. Experiencers live in that open question.
