We've reworked grenades in EXOSHOCK to make them more powerful, reliable, and rewarding to use. 🪖

Impact grenades now detonate directly on enemies with a 4m blast radius, while timed grenades have a 6m core radius and 12m fragmentation radius.

We've also improved collision detection and how explosions interact with environmental cover, making damage more consistent and predictable.

These improvements focus on enemy damage, while player damage and blast ranges remain unchanged.

The goal is to make every well-placed grenade count!

A look at the sheer scale of EXOSHOCK's massive, sprawling starships. 🚀

Here's some raw footage captured directly from Unreal Engine, showcasing what we believe are some of the largest maps in VR!

Wishlist to keep the monkey movement out of Exoshock, PLEASE 😭 https://t.co/hxrZiBOx8f

Please don't make us add monkey movement 🥺

AI Perception & Aiming Improvements 🤖

We've made some changes to how enemy AI processes its surroundings to help improve performance, especially when larger groups of enemies are active.

AI perception checks are now spread across multiple frames to reduce CPU load, while aiming continues to update every frame to maintain smooth and consistent combat behavior.

Still pushing ahead for Early Access 🦾

Performance has been a major focus this week. 🏎️

We’ve made targeted optimizations to held weapons, AI movement, and perception based on profiling.

Here’s a look at the latest flatscreen development build. More multiplayer testing and profiling still to come.

[Exoshock @ExoshockVR]

Tonight's work fixed a long-standing issue with AI cover detection, where the player's collision could mistakenly register as protection even when enemies were exposed.

Infantry now favor firing positions closer to cover, with more responsive movement in and out of protection. Heavies have also been adjusted to favor open spaces, though this still needs more tuning.

Also refined AI positioning and friendly spacing, stopped enemies from targeting Seekers, and restored the critical-health audio cue to make dangerously low health more apparent.

[Exoshock @ExoshockVR]

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who played and shared feedback during the Open Beta. A lot of the latest work has come directly from what we saw and heard from players.

Mission starts now have a short grace period before enemies begin spawning, scaling with Resistance Level. Flatscreen aiming has also been adjusted for a more direct, traditional feel, alongside recoil and weapon handling tweaks across both flatscreen and VR.

We’ve also reorganized parts of the lobby to make key stations easier to find, and improved objective readability so destroyed generators are much clearer at a glance.

More fixes and tuning are still underway.
Thanks for being here on this journey with us!
