Overnight, the IRGC announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz via state media.
Today, at least two vessels have been fired upon, according to maritime tracking groups.
Approximately 20 vessels have turned around, according to the WSJ.
@mattyjay96@aqualover420 His opsec was poor. He posted a real selfie, his birthday, and references to where he lives and his employment history on his X account. He also used his personal phone number for his "howlingmutant" Substack account, which is linked to his X account
The obvious dig at men who post stuff like this is "you've never seen a woman in bed" but I find it equally embarrassing that their hindbrains are so easily "duped" by the application of cosmetic products to a woman's face
"Here's what women look like without makeup" and it's just exactly what a normal woman looks like when she's not at work or on a date (every single time)

@DisgracedProp@deathmetalv10 The "value" to the Chinese billionaires could be as simple as being able to brag to their friends that they have a vacation home in New York. In exchange, they are paying tens or hundreds of thousands of dollar per year to the city in property taxes
@germanicrapist@qualadder@gorilla_rape I'm not thrilled about him maxing out the guest worker program, but, since he didn't say anything about it during the campaign and he did the same thing during his first term, I don't feel particularly betrayed by it.
I'm also not convinced this is a very important issue
@strongchris@lexiloo_h@kevishie@Jamie_Weinstein No, he's not. He's just adding a special new "pied-a-terre" tax, which, as he admits, is "specifically designed for the richest of the rich."
He's not fixing the city's convoluted property tax system which results in high-end condos and co-ops being undervalued for tax purposes
I enjoy the Survivorman series, but Les Stroud's formulaic disclaimer about he "hates to kill any living thing" every time he eats an animal for survival always throws me off. Is this a Canadian thing, like land acknowledgements?
It's funny how you never can tell anymore what political "buttons" are being pushed.
For example, I was confused why so many people were trashing a trailer for the movie The Substance, until I realized the "trigger" was that liberals hate Dennis Quaid who plays a supporting role
@germanicrapist@qualadder@gorilla_rape Calm down and wash your mouth out with soap. I am talking about what Trump promised.
In principle, I would be ok with net-zero immigration for at least 10 years, but that is never going to happen, under any president. Sorry, but I live in reality
It genuinely shocks me that American commute times are, on average, the same or better than European commute times. I always just kind of accepted that American long commutes were a reasonable trade off for less density and more personal freedom in a personal automobile. But apparently the average American spends about 49 minutes in their daily commute and that’s only 3 minutes more than France, and less than many other European countries. Only small and rural countries beat America on the whole, but rural commutes are also shorter in America.
The idea of a short 15 minute public transit or bicycle commute in Western Europe is just a total myth.
@germanicrapist@qualadder@gorilla_rape Show me in Trump's 2024 platform where he promised to "remove the foreigners": https://t.co/37VpjR5dlp
His promise was to secure the border, enforce immigration law, and have reasonable policies re: legal immigration. There was no betrayal
