@JuniorRowing @HenleywRegatta Small correction: @AnnabelEyres presented HRR Chairman Peter Coni with 'The Gentlemen's Plate' at the National Championships in 1990 rather than the World Championships (Iin Tasmania) - https://t.co/YA8TwpWmdr
@martingough22@homelesslondon Well done, Martin! We applauded you for a few laps at about 6.30pm - realising that you still had a LOOONG wayto go after that.
@LizBakerBeing@BritishRowing @HenleywRegatta I know that a previous HWR Chairman preferred this title as she did not want to share a role name with a piece of furniture.
The @WorldRowing Championships start tomorrow. GB has 8 women's boats entered - as they did 21 years ago, when we won one event for the third year running (with three different crews), but other results were disappointing. Here's what happened: https://t.co/HyxrFQhmMu
@PhelpsAnnamarie Yes, Helen Mangan and before her Liz Monti in 1974 were mothers to row for GB at the World Championships. They are the only 3, though, and Helen Glover the only one to row at an Olympics.
@joannerharris For the watcher this is also both cool and slightly terrifying - I guess because we're used to seeing in-boat video from a point fixed to the boat rathe rthan sliding up and down. Lovely day for it!
