@danielh_g @MAGAmatt84 "anti-Islam language"
Are people not allowed to have opinions about ideologies they feel have a negative impact?
It's like you don't think things through, but just follow along with the liberal group-think.
@GadgetDon @Thehippo43 @ABC@ABCPolitics You understand the other countries that do it are smaller? And they're filled with their own issues?
Just because a system hasn't caused them to go bankrupt, doesn't mean it won't. It'll take time for smaller countries to reap all the true benefits of socialized healthcare.
@GadgetDon @Thehippo43 @ABC@ABCPolitics Basically, you have to come to the understanding that not everything can or should be fixed. Sometimes the cure is worse than the disease.
I'm not for ending anyone's life. I'm just not one to bankrupt a country to stop the unstoppable.
@GadgetDon @Thehippo43 @ABC@ABCPolitics Nope. I'm just not an animal, unable to see past my own need to force the system to be changed to take care of me.
@GadgetDon @Thehippo43 @ABC@ABCPolitics That was war. And an attack on our country, even if not a direct attack on every individual in it. Not a good comparison.
@GadgetDon @Thehippo43 @ABC@ABCPolitics We can do things like regulate drug prices, without changing our entire system.
They'll go somewhere that they'll get paid what they're worth. This is in the scenario where their pay is lowered to something a universal healthcare system can cover.
@GadgetDon @Thehippo43 @ABC@ABCPolitics Oh, I'd be heartbroken. Yet I can also remove myself from the situation enough to realize we can't base policies/systems on emotion. That basis makes for bad decision making.
@GadgetDon @Thehippo43 @ABC@ABCPolitics And when we're no longer able to afford top quality healthcare, because a lot of the best doctors leave to avoid getting paid so much less than they're worth?
Drugs should be cheaper, and that's a fight we have to have with the pharm companies. We can do that on its own.
@GadgetDon @Thehippo43 @ABC@ABCPolitics And truly, it's oh well. We're not meant to live forever. Tragedies happen every day. It's part of life. Is it heartbreaking for the people involved? Of course. Still doesn't change your right to force people to pay for everyone's healthcare.
@GadgetDon @Thehippo43 @ABC@ABCPolitics We're supposed to, as good people, do things like have charity (read: voluntary) that takes care of the sick and needy.
We're not supposed to use guns (read:the government) to force people to pay for your healthcare.
@GadgetDon @Thehippo43 @ABC@ABCPolitics You say our healthcare is more advanced. That means it costs more. If everyone is covered, at extremely high costs, how long do you think we can sustain it?
The problem with both government paid for and insurance paid for healthcare is no one paying really cares about the cost.
@GadgetDon @Thehippo43 @ABC@ABCPolitics Honestly. healthcare is a hot mess of an issue.
It's too expensive and complicated to go your route.
You deem it too inhumane to go the route we're on.
How to get reasonable costs, without getting unreasonable waits and restrictions?
@GadgetDon @Thehippo43 @ABC@ABCPolitics They, under their universal healthcare system, had to fight a legal battle to even get him care here.
There, the system was just going to let him die. Good universal healthcare system. Cared so much.
@GadgetDon @Thehippo43 @ABC@ABCPolitics Cost went up when insurance mostly took over payments. Do you think cost would somehow go down, just because our tax dollars are paying for it? Have you ever seen a government program run more efficiently than a private one?
@GadgetDon @Thehippo43 @ABC@ABCPolitics And shit happens. Pre-existing conditions are some of what cost so much, and why should everyone be burdened by that?
