It's been a busy day. Made more freezer meals with the remainder of the turkey I cooked the other day, took down the Christmas tree, cleaned the living room, did several loads of laundry, and continued to slowly reorganize my bookshelves.
I'm happy to say that of the 118 books I read in 2025, 51 of them were borrowed from the library. Additionally, I read 43 new-to-me authors over the course of the year, the majority of which came from my library loans.
Wait. How did I miss that there are 2 books for World of Warcraft: The War Within that have been out for quite some time? AND the World of Warcraft: Midnight: Blood Ties book is already out? Oh man, I know what books will likely be my first purchases of the year.
First library haul of the year. I can't believe I have never read The Wind in the Willows, but I will be fixing that soon. I'm excited for the Ruth Goodman book. I've watched so many of her shows and loved them, but have yet to read any of her books.
Comparing my reading stats from 2024 to 2025, and overall they are quite similar. The number of books read, purchased, and unhauled are almost the same, give or take a few. However, I had significantly fewer DNFs, 39 DNFs in 2024 compared to 12 this year.

We bought our dog 2 new stuffed toys for Christmas. One was made for power chewers, with strong material & reinforced seams. The other was made with thin material and rated for light chewers. Guess which one was destroyed in 2 days? Yeah, the power chewer one did not last at all.
Well, today ended up being busy, so my plan to clean and reorganize my bookshelves was put on hold. But I accomplished a lot, and I can work on the shelves another day.

I think I'm going to spend the day rearranging my bookshelves. They are due for a thorough dusting, so this is the perfect time to change up the layout of the books.
While cleaning today, I found an old signed Bob Gould hockey card. I've had this since about 1990ish, when he was one of my teachers in school. Out of curiosity, I looked it up on eBay. It's value? About $2-10.
Goes to show you that not all 'collectables' are worth much.
So, I'm working on sorting through that collection of old sci-fi books I rescued a few weeks back, and I'd say about 80% of the books are actually alien conspiracy theory books. Not quite what I was hoping for from the collection, but oh well, they didn't end up in the dump.
Nothing beats the feeling of a new pair of warm fuzzy slippers on the coldest day of the year. They have been sitting in my closet for the last few months just waiting for this day to come around.
