When I started gardening in 2008, I was focused on form over function. Everything had to be pretty. π
That was hard to maintain, and my garden never really flourished.
Once I started focusing on what would actually help my plants grow and stay protected, everything changed. Suddenly, even the slapped-together fencing and simple garden boxes looked beautiful.
I still have to remind myself sometimes that gardening is about the plants, not the aesthetics. I still love pretty things, but those have become secondary. The funny thing is, when the plants are thriving, the beauty usually takes care of itself.
@SevierlyBlessed This is my favorite Dolly era. Right before the 9to5 movie; before the implants and cosmetic surgery. Just Dolly. As I get older I really appreciate when people are just being themselves. Itβs refreshing.
