In @TheAtlantic, I fret the Trump Administration — even with 27 months to go — will attempt to hand responsibility for resolving the mess in the Gulf over to its successor, which it will then blame for the mess that’s been made. https://t.co/zcCzU898fj

The Trump administration needs to face up to having lost the war in Iran “so that it can focus on preventing the effects of an embarrassing but ultimately manageable defeat from spreading beyond the Persian Gulf,” Andrew Exum argues: https://t.co/dLSr7aKJZ1

The fragile cease-fire between the U.S. and Iran could mark the beginning of the end of this conflict—and leaves behind three key changes to the Middle East, @ExumAM writes: https://t.co/6wPAjL4OHX

.@wesruckerTBA was one of the few good things about this place, and for Tennessee expatriates such as myself, he was a big way in which I followed Tennessee football, basketball, and baseball. My heart breaks for his wife and the rest of his family.

Was reminded of a funny @wesruckerTBA story from his early days on the UTC beat for the TFP. He had a story that he felt needed to go longer than the usual inch-count for features (20-inch stories were the norm, but Wes typically felt every word he wrote was a pearl, and needed more space LOL), so @JFTanner told him pretty sternly, "Fine, Wes, but we don't have space for some 70-inch novel." When the story came in - at a whopping 68 inches long (which would essentially eat up an entire page) - Wes called and deadpanned, "I kept it under 70, just like you said."
Like most of you guys who follow along on #VolTwitter, I've read so many of the posts about Wes, and it's just sort of a surreal feeling. Again, please keep his family in prayer in the coming days.
