I remember sitting alone and crying once at a vtuber con a while back, because I kept getting left out and forgotten about.
I felt so alone in the space.
Usually in my friend groups, we make an effort to ensure everyone is included.
We don't treat others poorly if we think they're a smaller creator than us, you treat everyone you meet with respect and decency.
I ended up having a panic attack at the same con because I felt like a burden to everyone.
One or two people checked on me and asked if I was okay, gave me a little pep talk and it really meant a lot to me.
I don't think you realise how far it goes to check in on someone who is struggling, but I will never forget that.
Since then I've met so many kind and wonderful creators, some being far larger than the people who left me out, some not even being vtubers at all, these things really don't matter but I think it says something.
I never hold these things against people, but this was certainly a hurdle I wasn't expecting.
I believe sometimes people don't even realise what they're doing or how it affects others.
I'm in a far better place now. More resilient, confident and I have made so many friends.
But because I went through this, I try my absolute best to make sure no creators have to go through what I did.
Shoutout to the cool people who, despite facing their own struggles, continue to be kind and look out for others.
