These are the most common hawks here in Central California, but always a thrill to see! Here are a few fun facts about #RedTailedHawks.

1). Their eyesight is 8x sharper than ours—they spot prey from 100+ ft up!

2). That classic Hollywood hawk scream? Almost always a Red-tailed Hawk's call.

3). They often mate for life & reuse massive stick nests.

It's time to pull out those BIRDS IN FLIGHT images.

This is a Glossy Ibis. Here are 3 fun facts
1). They look almost plain black or dark from far away, but up close in good light, their feathers shimmer with iridescent colors like deep maroon, emerald green, bronze, and violet—like wearing a living rainbow coat!

2). Their long, curved bill has special touch sensors that let them snap it shut super fast the moment it touches prey in the mud, even without seeing it—perfect for sneaky wetland hunting.

3). The name "glossy ibis" comes from words meaning "sickle," referring to that stylish downward-curving bill shaped like a little scythe.
