Day 9: We present the EYE Retreat class of 2023. We are 38 individuals from CA, DE, GA, NY, NC, SC and WI. A special thank you to North Raleigh Lions Club, Triangle Community Foundation, #TEACH, Delta Gamma Foundation, GMS and GMSAA for support of us!
Day 8: In celebration of our 15 years of service to students with visual impairments, we visited Carolina Beach to enjoy the ocean, the sandy beach, amusement rides and food!
Day 7: Today we put our skills to the test. We arranged our own transportation off campus. We advocated for ourselves at area businesses. We visited the mall, a bowling alley and arcade.
Day 6: We had tons of fun and learning today! We explored NCSU and competed in a scanveger hunt. We learned how to use public transportation. An operator from the Business Enterprise Program and Dr. Kilgore from #TEACH talked
about entrepreneurship.
Day 3: We spent the day learning about disability services, assistive technology and career opportunities for the blind. We played some basketball and ran laps in the gym too. We used time today to start planning for our off campus activities later this week.
EYE Retreat Day 1: Welcome! We honored our leadership team today for their service! Thank you!How high can you build a tower from spaghetti and marshmallows? Students and mentors worked together to build awesome towers! Finally, we enjoyed some recreation time socializing.
