@SnarkyMi We also hope that you’ll talk to teachers. Many of them were harassed and had their jobs threatened by A2R2. The harm that group committed has had deep consequences in our community and schools. You’ll note that the AAEA has not endorsed those associated with A2R2 for a reason.

In discussions about school board candidates, A2R2 board members get very defensive and claim that they have never been anti-mask.
Let’s review a little.
Here they are claiming to have never been such a thing.
All three of these people are A2R2 board members.

@SnarkyMi Cortina is married to Lilia Cortina who more than once accused the superintendent of drunk tweeting. More than a little ironic for a professor of women’s and gender studies to go after another woman like that.

@SnarkyMi An important thing to note if you’re considering Cortina and Kauffman is that she’s married to Jesse Kauffman who is the eurohistprof profile above. You won’t find him on Twitter anymore, because he was making vile comments about children and using vile language on Twitter.

The thing we have found most concerning about the A2R2 crowd is how inequitable their views were and how badly they treated teachers and staff.
So we here at EyesOnA2R2 would encourage you to vote for candidates committed to equity in all areas and who are pro-teacher:

@Dr_Ippon Many members of our AAPS community have been blocked by Lena Kauffman and Lilia Cortina including many teachers and school staff members. I certainly don’t trust people associated with A2R2 to represent the community and school staff when they’re uninterested in our views.

A2R2 board members and followers have always tried to use semantics and twist others’ words and their own.
Paying attention to what has actually occurred is vital.

And never ever forget that the organization was founded by two anti-mask individuals, Anna Hoffman and Jesse Kauffman.

Kai Cortina and Lena Kauffman are running for school board together. Their only tweet so far is asking people to endorse them.
They currently have four followers. One is Lena herself.
One is Kai’s wife.
Those two and one other follower have blocked this account.

Continuing to keep an eye on the fact that as of today Rima Mohammad is still the only candidate that A2R2 has promoted on their Twitter feed.

@juliablough It seems it would be especially hard to represent all interests in a community as a school board member when one has blocked so many members of the community.

Rima Mohammad continues to be the only candidate that A2R2 has promoted even though an A2R2 board member and husband of another board member are running. Currently they are more concerned that candidates are being asked what their connection to A2R2 is.

It also seems that those entrenched in A2R2 lost touch with the community long ago and don’t comprehend just how negatively they have impacted the community. Many in the community want to be sure that school board members will not have allegiance to or need to follow A2R2.

And two board members - Shannon and Joanna - are involved with this discussion. A moderator asking a question seems irrelevant since community members could submit questions ahead of time.
