If it is signed into law by the President, these are some of the major penalties every road user in Nigeria should know:

2. 🚌 Hawking, Trading or Preaching Inside Commercial Buses Penalty: ₦50,000 fine.

3. 🚗 Speed Limit Violation Penalty: ₦100,000 fine

4. ⚠️ Reckless Driving Penalty: ₦100,000 fine, or up to 2 years imprisonment, or both

5. 🍺 Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Intoxicating Drugs Penalty: ₦100,000 fine, or up to 2 years imprisonment, or both

6. 🫁 Refusing an FRSC Breath Test If an FRSC officer has reasonable suspicion and you refuse to cooperate with a roadside breath test: Penalty: ₦50,000 fine, or 6 months imprisonment, or both

Important: The bill has passed the Senate but is NOT yet law. It still requires Presidential Assent before these new penalties can take effect. Until then, the existing FRSC laws and penalties remain in force.

Generation matters more than i3/i5/i7.
