One lesson I've learned in medical school:

Don't chase balance.

Chase harmony.

Some weeks demand more academics.

Other weeks create room for income.

Trying to balance everything equally usually means neglecting everything equally.

Sounds confusing?

It was.

But it led me to one brutal truth about clarity in medicine;

3 yrs ago (my 200 level),

I decided I was going to build a brand online.

(content creation)

I was so excited about the opportunities online.

I said I would be a public speaker.

An Influencer.

A motivational speaker.

A cardiothoracic Surgeon.

I said I was going to be everything.

(The classical vague plan for your future).

Guess when I finally took action.

THIS TIME LAST YEAR!!!

Yes, I procrastinated for 2 whole years before I decided to take the bold step.

And even when I started, there wasn't any clarity at all.

In fact, my mentor at the time (Asexual Doctor), had to guide me on the proper actions to take.

At the time, my interest had shifted from Cardiothoracic surgery to Neurosurgery.

So I started writing about Neuroscience (here on X)

However, as this year progressed, I pivoted towards addiction.

But it still didn't feel right.

Around April/March,

I'd decided I wasn't going to practice!!!!

I realized that trying to balance Entrepreneurship with Business would make both areas of my life suffer.

So I had to pick one.

So as you might presume, given I wasn't interested in Neuroscience anymore, it'd make sense to stop writing about addiction.

That's why I rebranded some weeks ago.

The plan now is simple,

You know you're not supposed to move to a new platform until you master 1.

I spent 12 months test running X.

The plan now is just to keep posting on both X and LinkedIn.

After which I'll move to Instagram, and Definitely Youtube.

(especially hosting my own podcast).

Of course these plans aren't sacrosanct.

The future is very flexible.

But at least I have a framework to work with.

I'm on a beautiful journey my friend. And I'd like you to be a part.
