A god who wants the government to live stream executions but gets furious about the government helping the poor, welcoming the immigrant, feeding the hungry, and protecting our planet is not the god revealed by Jesus Christ but a god invented by cruel and greedy men.
“A Christianity without empathy is nothing but an empty religion. The heart of the Gospel is to love your neighbor as yourself, to rejoice with those who rejoice, and to weep with those who weep.”
—Henri Nouwen, “The Return of the Prodigal Son”
If you’re upset by a woman prophetically speaking truth to power, let me introduce you to Jesus’ mom:
“God has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble. God has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty.”
-Luke 1:52-53
2/ One of the clearest signs of cowardice in a minister is when their private relationship to Empire is more important than their proximity, identification, and succor to those whom Empire hurts.

Can’t let the day go by before acknowledging what today is.
🚨November 1st is World Kobani Day.
Kobani is a small Kurdish town in Rojava (northeast Syria) just across the Turkish border. In 2014 it was locked in by ISIS terrorists on the Syrian side and the Turkish military on the border, Kurds were surrounded. No, Turkey didn’t help the Kurds even in this situation. In fact Turkey watched hoping that ISIS would win, Erdogan declared “Kobani is about to fall.”
For 134 days, Kurds resisted ISIS terrorism and inaction from Turkey. Kurdish women led the fight, breaking through the ISIS line and eventually defeating both Turkey and ISIS.
Even today, the Turkish regime is bitter about the defeat. It is routinely bombarded by the Turkish military.
Kobani is in all of our hearts.
ISIS and Turkish terrorism lost, Kurdish love for life and freedom won.
Kobani will forever be Kurdish.
Deborah “held court under the Palm of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites went up to her to have their disputes decided.” Judges 4:5
At least 17 Christians have been killed and more than 100 churches burned down in violence in Manipur, #India.
The clash is between two ethnic groups. About 41% of the state are Christians, and they've been caught up in it.
Please pray for peace and for all those affected.
@TGC How it sounds: "I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a servant of the church at Cenchreae, that you may welcome her in the Lord in a way worthy of the saints, and help her in whatever she may need from you, for she has been a patron of many and of myself as well." (Rom. 16:1–2)
In Romans 16, Paul lists ten ministry leaders: seven women and three men. Two of the three men are listed alongside their wives, highlighting their shared authority.

Why is the Hebrew word “chayil” translated as “strength,” “force,” or “capacity” when referring to men, but as “virtue” or “chastity” when referring to a female? @Mimi_CBE#GodValuesWomen https://t.co/zE6Eny1K4z
Religion is fundamentally about keeping a moral code. Christianity is fundamentally about a gracious God who saves people that fail to keep the moral code.
