Being first rarely means you win.
It's normally the second company that ends up on top.
Remember:
MySpace < Facebook
Yahoo < Google
Vine < TikTok
The first takes all the risk. The second build on the success and creates something unbelievable.
Be second to be better.
The algorithm hates me.
Says everyone whose accounts aren't growing.
Which is strange because if you drive poorly you won't blame the road for hating you. 🤯
Let's do an exercise together to fix this.
It's pretty simple.
1. Pick an account you admire
Ideally someone in your niche writing content you like. Don't think too hard, whoever pops up in your home feed will do.
2. Look for their best content
Luckily on X, you can use advanced search to filter for their top posts.
You may need to play around with min_faves and since to find a good number that results in around ~30 posts.
3. (Optional) Copy them into a document
Grab a Google Doc or Notion and copy all the first 3 lines of their top posts.
4. Analyse the hook & format
Try and figure out what makes the post successful.
What is it about? What makes you click on it? How is the post structured?
When I first did this exercise I categorized mine with notes. (see screenshot)
5. Rewrite the same post
Now find one you can rewrite with your own experience, or with your own twist.
I recommend picking a shorter, ~280 character post to start with.
6. Rinse and repeat
The idea here is NOT to be a copy cat forever.
It is to learn a new muscle memory.
You can't become a better writer by repeating bad copy. 🤷♀️
In the copywriting world, this technique is called Copy Work.
We are adapting it here for social media.
🚨Warning: It will feel hard. That's why unless you want to spend hours on one post, choose a shorter post to start!
The best thing about social media is that you get INSTANT FEEDBACK.
· Within a few hours, you will know if it worked.
· Within a week, you will have learned more about writing short-form copy than a $299 course.
Find inspiration → Adapt → Feedback
Anyway, hope this helps.
p/s: Yes, the Google Sheet was titled Twitter Prompts because I originally intended to create a GPT writing tool with it.
GPT-4 struggles to write in different styles, which is why most AI-written text sounds the same.
But with this prompt, you can get GPT-4 to emulate any writing style you want.
Use it to write like your favorite author, mimic a specific tone, or even create content that matches your own unique style. It's like having a world-class ghostwriter at your fingertips.
---
You are a world-class ghostwriter skilled at matching a particular writing style. When given a writing task, you follow a strict two-step approach that always leads to great results.
First, will analyze the target style and break down the important elements.
Next, you complete the writing task normally. The goal here isn’t to match the style — just complete the task in the most efficient way possible, with bland, clear, basic, yet high-quality writing.
Then comes the important part.
- First, you will identify some way(s) that a text can be rewritten in the target style (think about wording, phrasing… even things like including new metaphors are fair game **if** the target style warrants it). Really think this through and reason about it properly. This is vital. Do this as a semicolon-separated list.
- Then, based on that reasoning, you will rewrite the text to incorporate the suggested changes.
- After you have rewritten the text to better match the target style, you will critique it, thinking about whether or not you feel good enough about it to consider your job complete.
- **You will do this on repeat, until you feel confident that your job is done perfectly. Repeat no less than two times, and no more than ten times.**
Here is the Markdown format you will use to respond:
```
## Analysis of Target Style
- **Element 1**: $element1_description
- **Element 2**: $element2_description
- ...
## Initial Writing Task
$initial_text
---
### Iteration 1
#### Changes to Implement in Target Style
$change1_for_iteration1; $change2_for_iteration1...
#### Rewritten Text
$rewritten_text_iteration1
#### Critique
$critique_iteration1
### Iteration 2
#### Changes to Implement in Target Style
$change1_for_iteration2; $change2_for_iteration2...
#### Rewritten Text
$rewritten_text_iteration2
#### Critique
$critique_iteration2
---
(Repeat iterations as needed, up to 10 times)
```
---
Here is your task:
```[TASK GOES HERE]```
Here are example(s) or a description of the style to follow:
```[STYLE EXAMPLES OR A STYLE DESCRIPTION]```
Remember, at each step, try to match the style as closely as you can.

Stuck on keyword research? Start with your competitors.
+ Find 3-5 of your top competitors.
+ Plug their sites into Ahrefs/Semrush tool.
+ Extract their top ranking keywords and pages.
+ Identify low competition long-tail keywords to target.
+ Create high quality helpful content around those terms.
Stop guessing keywords!
Learn from sites that've succeeded!
Research --> Results!
Images wreck page loading speed, which affects UX (and SEO).
Here's a simple way to prevent disruption:
1. Resize your images before uploading
For example, if your image width is 300px, don't upload an image that's 1000px wide and force downsizing.
Resize to 300px width before uploading.
Then:
2. Use Optimizilla to compress your images
You can drastically reduce file size without compromising image quality.
The final step is to:
3. Convert compressed images to WebP
Just Google free WebP conversion tools. This will reduce the file size even further.
Now images won't drag your site down anymore.
P.S. There are WordPress plugins that can handle the last two steps. The irony is that having excessive plugins also slows your site down.
My preference is to find alternative options that don't involve plugins.

In 2023, you can only put $6,500 into a Roth IRA.
But if you have the right 401(k) plan, you could potentially put an extra $43,500 this year into a Roth IRA.
Here's how you do it:
Please stop planning your SEO 🙏
I know, it's fun.
You build a massive database of keyword opportunities and dream of what's possible.
But that's where most SEO dreams die.
Once the endorphin rush wears off, you're left with one thing:
Execution.
And that part is tedious and slow.
But it's the only part that actually produces results.
Spend 99% of your time producing.
Stop planning, analyzing, and debating what you're going to do.
These are not life-and-death decisions.
You can make tons of mistakes in your SEO campaign and still win.
