Verstappen’s 2022-2023 seasons are unbelievable. Over the 2 seasons combined he won 15/22 (68%) and 19/22 (86.4)%), which together is good enough for 77.3% across 44 races
Ascari’s record of 75% win rate (8 races) stood from 1952 until the end of 2023
The craziest part? If you chose to include sprints, he would have 15+2/25, and 19+4/28, which combined is 75.5%!
Even with sprints across 2 seasons, 44 races and 9 sprints, he managed to top Ascari’s 1952 record.
Seeing lot of different takes on the Leclerc contract
But, I never expected him to leave anyway? And I think it’s admirable to stay, and try to follow your dreams.
Besides, it’s not like there’s a lot of better options for seats anyway, and Ferrari aren’t even bad
I wouldn’t change a thing, when this happened in 2018 after pushing too hard, something happened, and he became the best driver in the sport almost immediately afterwards
@abhilashsaysok I’m not seeing red mist, I’m just telling you the truth.
2021 was not close, Max was better and by a good margin.
You can disagree, that’s fine with me
Yeah, by clawing it back you mean generational luck
Taking Max out in Britain, having his teammate take him out in Hungary, 2 lucky red flags in Silverstone and Imola, a tyre pop in Baku (he bottled that anyway), an 11 second pit stop in Monza when Lewis was dreadful that weekend off the pace the entire time, and then Bottas running through 10,000 engines to test for Lewis to win several late season races with an advantage that the red bull couldn’t over come
Not even close to razor thin, he was lucky to be anywhere near the fight.
And in 2019 he was nothing special at all, Verstappen was better.
You’re stretching so hard to make it seem like Max wasn’t an absolute demon in 2021
Every weekend he was on the pace, the only time he finished outside of the top 2 was when someone crashed into him in Hungary or he’d DNF
It’s one of the best individual seasons of all time, and better than 2018 btw
Would have been better imo if the story started with Dante’s in prison already, and we learned over time how he got there, during his revenge arc and all that
My main gripe with it was the jumping perspectives early on, I wasn’t interested in the views outside of Dante’s
And I think almost everyone would agree that Dumas isn’t in the same league as Dostoyevsky
@abhilashsaysok I’d go as far as to say that 2021 individual season for Max is one of the best seasons by any driver ever
Every single weekend he was lethal
@LAT3BRAKING@Danelerc All of a sudden race h2h matters, I guess when we look at the whole of their time together it paints a different picture than you’d like then
@LAT3BRAKING@Danelerc Out qualified Danny in 2017, and RBR essentially pissed on the strat
So flat out lie, the exact kind of thing that gets excused for Charles but not max
