Selecting ‘Adults’ for my final placement so I get a good experience of both settings. I initially thought I would go into adults - still could!
But my first placement in CP was the best, I want to go back!
17 years ago I was left brain damaged by ECT because the doctors failed to monitor for adverse effects. I have tried to get the @rcpsych to improve their meaningless standards. They have refused and hence others ended up like me. @andyluff8 @LisaTra1 https://t.co/YWBbLCiaqZ
For me "she was just walking home" misses the point. There is absolutely nothing, not a single thing that justifies gender based violence.
The idea that only good behaviour warrants protection or human rights is concerning. Human rights are not conditional.
Although we should celebrate social work, it’s really important we don’t get stuck in the ‘superheroes’ narrative! This isn’t about rescuing people, they don’t need to be rescued.
Have you slipped into this narrative? #studentconnect
@SWbohemians I was adamant I wanted adult mental health, so thought I’ll save that for my final placement. I had child protection and it has completely changed my mind, loved it! And was very involved with parental MH at the same time. I love the regular interactions of working with families.
