Great conversation with @AirlinesPodcast host @MiddleSeat discussing how @FAANews is building a brand-new, world-class aviation system – one that is safer, more reliable and more efficient than ever before. This is a monumental project, and I appreciate the focus of all parties involved to improve the flying experience for air travelers. Listen to the full episode at https://t.co/f8yVZGUGeP. ✈️
The FAA is moving at the speed of Trump as we transform the air traffic control system making it more modern, safer, and smarter and I'm honored to be at the helm of the agency at such a transformational time.
I shared @CAPA_Aviation that we're building a system not just for the American flying public, but for all the users of the system - current and future. We're gaining valuable insight from our stakeholders, sharing best practices and shaping the future of aviation. Innovation is driving our transformation, but safety will always be our top priority.
At the FAA Academy, we saw firsthand how our controller hiring campaign is delivering results. Through the fastest and most effective recruitment effort in agency history, we’re training the next generation of air traffic controllers to manage the world’s most complex airspace. ✈️
✅Over 8,737 have registered for ATSA, and over 7,354 have tested
✅We’re at 73% of the FY26 hiring goal (1,604 onboarded)
✅1,652 have received tentative offer letters
✅Hired 20% more controllers in 2026 than 2024
✅We're continue to break our previous records and deliver at supercharged speed
It was an honor to speak at the International Aviation Club today about the future of the FAA and the National Airspace System. Safety, scalability, and collaboration with our international counterparts remain central to the work we’re doing to modernize America’s airspace for future generations.
We’re giving Americans a closer look at the future of air travel. ✈️ This is the biggest transformation of America’s air traffic control system and we’re committed to transparency and accountability every step of the way. I’m proud that this innovative technology and training is occurring in OKC. Thank you @SecDuffy and @FAA_Bryan for investing your time and resources into the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center.
Thank you @aerosociety for a great evening and discussion on how we are modernizing air traffic control and deploying smarter technologies to improve the safety and efficiency of the National Airspace System. Aviation safety depends on global collaboration, and we look forward to continuing strong partnerships with our international allies.
The FAA workforce is driving the future of aviation. Grateful to meet with employees today at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center whose expertise, innovation, and dedication keep our skies safe every day. From training the next generation of air traffic controllers at the Academy to advancing virtual reality testing, their work is helping modernize our airspace and strengthen our controller pipeline.
We’re building a SMARTER National Airspace System using the latest technology to create a more balanced, strategically deconflicted airspace. That means more reliable operations and a smoother travel experience for the flying public, every single day!
Replacing old systems is no longer an option! We're getting rid of the analog equipment and moving into the digital world. @USDOT and @FAANews are finally bringing our air traffic infrastructure into the 21st century. ✈️

Out with the old, in with the new! ✈️🇺🇸 An exciting day for American aviation as @SecDuffy and @FAA_Bryan detailed how we are making real progress modernizing America's airspace—while also looking ahead to the NAS of the future.
We're delivering:
✅612 state-of-the-art radars
✅25,000 new radios
✅400 new digital voice switches
✅200 airports with new surface awareness technology
The future of FAA is now, and I am honored to witness it here @SunnFunFlyIn.
Our modernization efforts across the NAS include modern tools and more transparency for GA pilots, too. We're breaking down silos and building a better system for everyone.
E-CTI partnerships with schools like @UofNorthDakota are force multipliers helping train the next generation of air traffic controllers. ✈️
These programs are strengthening the talent pipeline and contributing to the record number of controllers joining the FAA.

Our controllers and technicians have built their highly respected and skilled careers on responsibility, trust and pride in serving the American flying public. @SecDuffy and I owe it to them to deliver a brand-new, safe, modern and efficient air traffic control system to support 21st century airspace operations. 🇺🇸✈️
📺 ✈️ @AirlinesDotOrg CEO:
Congress has invested BILLIONS to MODERNIZE our air traffic control system through @POTUS’ One Big Beautiful Bill.
@SecDuffy and @FAA_Bryan are working tirelessly to upgrade our systems and get our hardworking controllers and @TSA officers paid like they deserve! 💵
On behalf of the FAA's 44,000 employees, we extend our deepest sympathy to the two pilots, their families and loved ones. We take our responsibilities seriously in managing the safety of the national airspace system both on the ground and in the air.
Thank you to the emergency responders who arrived quickly to the scene of this tragic accident. The FAA is committed to fully supporting the @NTSB-led investigation.

I'm headed to @LGAairport to join @SecDuffy in the wake of last night's collision.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this tragedy, their families and loved ones. We'll continue to support @NTSB as they lead the investigation. Please follow @FAANews for more updates.
FAA Statement
Air Canada Express Flight 8646 struck an Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting vehicle after landing on Runway 4 at LaGuardia Airport in New York. The accident occurred around 11:40 p.m. local time on Sunday, March 22. The CRJ-900 was arriving from Montreal. The FAA and NTSB will investigate. The NTSB is in charge of the investigation and will provide all updates.
The airport is closed. Visit the NOTAM site for additional information.

We are proactively ensuring safety at busy airports. The FAA looked at airports with mixed helicopter and airplane traffic nationwide and identified an overreliance on pilot ‘see and avoid’ operations. We’re now requiring air traffic controllers to use radar to keep these aircraft specific distances apart. https://t.co/fKYMN8l589
