Learning Journey of an "educator-out-of-the-academe" mom and her daughter. Her homeschooling adventure. My parenting journey...Our radical unschooling.
Changing the name!!!
The blogsite has been down for years. And yesterday, out of whim, I clicked the link site from here...Lo, and behold. The site is up. NOT MINE.
So, let's take it off.
Long overdue.

Second day, another opportunity to become a happier version of ourselves. Let's re-invent ourselves to stay fresh. Let's stay in the game of life!!!
In every action we do; as we mold the future.
Let's lead our children to better values, attitudes and perspectives. Let's lead them to #inclusion and acceptance. Let's be more careful and mindful.

I will quote Abraham Lincoln on this; The philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next."
I have spent more years as an educator more than any other profession I have had.
It is saddening to see "unmindful" contents on our educational materials 🙁 I am using UNMINDFUL...as there probably was no intention to do what it consequently did (#bodyshaming and #discriminating). However, the LACK OF THOUGHT still led to it. #Mindfulness matters.
As part of our preparation for the shift, we had some "open meetings" (discussion) exploring our WHY's.
Why does she prefer to home school? Why does school platform need to change? Why ... why ... why ...
Understanding "why" helps us to predict their behavior & share experiences.
It also allows us to move flexibly between our own perspective and our child's. It also allows us and our kids to accept a change if we understand the reason for it. As we have it; acceptance leads to less resistance.
Let's help each other understand the WHY's of these
We are taking a different route to homeschooling - free-style. It is not a protest. We are not claiming to know better. We just opt to take a different route.
The website https://t.co/JbxfUSsG2y could no longer be recovered. Sometimes we are forced into changes by circumstances.
Just as the recent changes caused by the global pandemic, COVID-19, changed much of people's lifestyle and work (not much for me).
This "new normal" has hastened changes for my daughter too. She was thinking of moving back to home school by 7th grade...she is 6th grade now... making her complete Elementary (we have Grade 1-6 Elementary, Grade 7-10 Junior High; 11-12 Senior High here in the Philippines)
