Something about GTA VI gives me strong GTA IV vibes.
It feels like the sunny beaches and neon aesthetic are meant to draw you in, while the story underneath is far darker and more grounded.
Even the character bios hint at it. So many characters seem to be on top of the world, yet the wording suggests they’re hanging by a thread. The Real Dimez being described as “one hit away from fame” doesn’t sound like a happy ending it sounds like people chasing success before everything falls apart.
Rockstar keeps reinforcing this with lines like “the darkest side of the sunniest place in America” and “When the sun fades and the neon glows, everyone has something to gain and even more to lose.”
Those don’t feel like throwaway marketing lines. They feel like deliberate foreshadowing.
