We're ready to introduce ourselves!
Falastini Advocates for Liberation (FAL) is committed to serving as a leading advocacy voice for Palestinian-Canadians, representing the diverse experiences and aspirations of our community.
What's up with Trump?
He looks tired and chastened, and is talking about the need to be 'good to Gaza'.
Has it begin to dawn on Trump that Israel is doing fatal damage to his administration?
In a 12-minute speech on the @SenateCA floor, the admirable @yuenpauwoo relays the longstanding and recently accelerated plight of the Palestinian people and Canada’s and the world’s relationship to it.
Interweaving personal reflections, he captures us and centres Palestinians and those advocating for justice on their behalf.
He warns us about domestic threats to free speech.
May his words be heard across the country, particularly in the lower Chamber.
"Are we seriously thinking of passing a bill to celebrate Arab Heritage without any reflection on how Canadian policy is aiding and abetting the slaughter of Arabs in the Middle East?" #SenCA#CdnPoli Full text here: https://t.co/Wb9cINEihQ https://t.co/iMK1IrMZcr
Regrettably, @CanadaUN voted “NO” on a resolution renewing the mandate of the UN Secretariat’s Division for Palestinian Rights & requesting it commemorate the anniversary of the Nakba. This is a form of Nakba denial. It passed 101-27.
Breaking: @CanadaUN once again broke with its pro-Israel record by voting YES on “Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine” (1st time since 2004). The motion calls for a peace conference & urges Israel to comply with ICJ and withdraw from the OPT. It passed 157-8.
You could also implement an actual #ArmsEmbargo. The public knows most weapon components from 🇨🇦 to 🇮🇱 flow through the US largely unregulated.
@CanadaFP has also suspended only 12% of open weapon permits to go directly to Israel.
Does diplomacy include being the one of only 7 countries to vote against Palestinian sovereignty over their natural resources, refusing to meet with @FranceskAlbs, continuing to allow stolen Palestinian land to be sold in 🇨🇦, and allowing charitable organizations to support the 🇮🇱 military?
🇨🇦 will forever be known as one of the few states that backed this #genocide.
The absolute legend @FranceskAlbs came outside after her talk this afternoon at SOAS to greet the large, appreciative crowd who had gathered to counter a small, Zionist protest against her speaking at London Unis.
In a time of deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.
I believe the time for Canada to recognize a Palestinian state is long past due. All people have the right to self-determination, and that includes the people of Palestine. While I welcome this committee study, I urge Canada not to wait -- do the right thing today.
During her visit to Montreal on Sunday, Albanese clearly spelled out the principles of the UN and international law.
She stated: ‘It is extremely troubling to see countries which are members of the United Nations pontificate, call into question and cloud the meaning of international law and dehumanizing the victims of these past 12 months.’
We applaud her commitment to upholding fundamental principles of international law in a consistent fashion.

At the UN, Canada’s Ambassador @BobRae is quick to condemn Russia over Ukraine but remains silent on Israel’s clear violations of international law in Palestine. Canada must apply a consistent approach to human rights and international law. By providing diplomatic cover for Israel’s genocide, our country is sinking its credibility on the world stage.
Meanwhile, UN Special Rapporteur @FranceskAlbs, who is currently touring the East Coast, has been facing attacks from @CIJA, Canadian legacy media, and @CanadaGeneva. Despite this, she continues to courageously call out the double standards promoted by a small minority of countries — including Canada.
At Falastini Advocates for Liberation, we believe in advocating for justice in a way that unites people across diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Read our full statement regarding recent events below.
It is far past time that this government acts to end Israeli impunity as they commit genocide in Palestine and now brutalize Lebanese civilians in their sovereign territory.
@HMcPhersonMP appeals to @melaniejoly DIRECTLY, pointing out that she can IMMEDIATELY (w/o an act of Parliament):
1. Recognize Palestinian statehood.
2. Sanction members of the Netanyahu administration.
3. Implement an immediate 2-way arms embargo
@liberal_party@JustinTrudeau
Palestinians have a right to self-determination + a sovereign, secure, viable state. This right has existed for many decades, notably since the UN created the partition plan in 1948. It is the key to peace with Israel. Canada should join the 146 nations who recognize Palestine.
A resolution overflowing with references to international law, respecting international obligations & complying with ICJ Advisory Opinion. Should be an automatic yes for Canada, self-declared champion of the international rules-based order. Instead, we abstain? That is not being a champion @melaniejoly@JustinTrudeau
We appreciate @HMcPhersonMP’s consistent commitment to Palestinian humanity + intnl law and continue to call on @liberal_party@JustinTrudeau to show moral courage in doing the same. This non-response from the PM shows none. Words w/o action are meaningless. @BobRae48@CanadaFP
I am disappointed Canada did not stand with 124 other countries, including allies like New Zealand, France, Mexico and Japan. in upholding international law. Our votes should be in line with our foreign policy, which makes clear the occupation and settlements are illegal.
8/ We call on all Canadians to support @IndigoKillsKids and boycott Indigo until they drop their legal threats and end their complicity in Israel’s war crimes. Giant corporations should not have the power to suppress criticism of their involvement in human rights abuses.
🧵1/ Indigo is attempting to hide its complicity in Israel’s genocide by threatening legal action against social media users who are calling out Indigo’s CEO, Heather Reisman, and her support for IOF mercenaries via the HESEG Foundation, a registered Canadian charity.
7/ The Indigo 11 were branded as antisemites and treated like criminals for plastering posters and pouring washable red paint on an Indigo store. This is part of a sustained effort by Indigo to attack those who expose its complicity in genocide. Read more: https://t.co/vcarrkDK7W
