๐#FAMUSJGC Grad Spotlight: Lariel Green is building a legacy of firsts. A first-generation college graduate and a member of the inaugural cohorts of the @USGA Pathways Launch Program and the Florida A&M University @IPREX_Global Student Cohort, sheโs pushed past shyness and stepped boldly into opportunities that helped shape her into an emerging PR leader.
Through the FAMU SJGC PR program, involvement with The FAMUAN student newspaper, @FAMUAthletics experiences, and national professional development opportunities such as internships with NASCAR and Florida Citrus Sports, sheโs grown into a confident emerging communications leader.
๐ This summer, after a competitive selection process, Lariel will join Pinehurst Resort, known as โThe Cradle of American Golfโ and the first-ever U.S. Open anchor site, as a marketing intern supporting creative services, social media, and client insights ahead of upcoming championship golf events. This next chapter will allow her to marry her love for sports with her love for connecting people.
Her story reflects the impact of initiative, mentorship, and experiential learning, and whatโs possible when students pair passion with real-world opportunities.

๐#FAMUSJGC Grad Spotlight: More than a standout golfer, Spring 2026 graduate Ethan Kelly became a champion for faith, community, and creative purpose during his time at FAMU.
When the COVID-19 aftermath and shifting NCAA rules forced him to defer his original scholarship offers, Ethan leaned on his faith โ and kept competing. That perseverance opened the door to the HBCU golf community, where coaches recognized his talent and heart.
๐Their support led him to Florida A&M University, where he became a member of the PGA WORKS and SWAC Championship Rattler golf team.
But golf was only part of his story.
At FAMU SJGC, Ethan rediscovered his early love for visual communication and design, finding a creative home in the Graphic Communication Division.
Surrounded by a tightโknit community of classmates and professors, he strengthened his artistic voice, built new skills, and found support during personal loss.
That encouragement helped him merge his passions. As a creative intern with @FAMUAthletics, Ethan produced cinematic visuals and storytelling content that highlighted Rattler studentโathletes โ including his own teammates.
โณ๏ธNow, Ethan is preparing for a future that blends professional golf, creative design, and leadership. He plans to compete at the highest levels while using his graphic, visual, and communications skills to elevate HBCU athletes and expand representation in the sport.
Read how Ethanโs faith, resilience, and community helped him design a path thatโs uniquely his โ and why heโs leaving โThe Hillโ ready to compete, create, and lead.
