A student brought her baby to class when she had no other option. Instead of seeing it as a disruption, her professor recognized a young mother doing her best.
The professor stepped in, gently took the baby in her arms, and continued teaching the lesson. The student was able to focus and learn without worry.

Ricky Jackson was 18 when he and two others were wrongly convicted of murder in Cleveland in 1975. The only evidence was the testimony of 12-year-old Eddie Vernon.

Detectives coached Eddie line by line and threatened to arrest his parents if he changed his story. Eddie had not actually seen the crime—he was blocked away on a school bus

Ricky was sentenced to death. Ohio halted executions before his turn came. He spent 39 years in prison—the longest term of any U.S. exoneree at the time.

Years later, Eddie tearfully confessed to his pastor that he had lied. His recantation led to Ricky’s release in 2014. The city paid him millions in compensation.

Ricky said staying angry would be “the chicken’s way out.” He chose forgiveness instead.
