Last week, I joined ten journalists from African countries on a tour of Vienna's Hofburg Palace, the seat of Austria's President.
When I asked Beate Mein-Reisinger, Austria's Federal Minister for European and International Affairs, about Austria's democratic system and what Africa could learn, she said democracy is indeed a strong system, but it must be managed well to succeed.
I also noticed something unique; people were riding bikes and motorbikes right in front of the presidents office, which felt so different from back home in Africa.
Yet, I loved how they preserved the history, unlike many other places, as l heard from officials, the presidential office opens for tours from time to time.
It's been standing for centuries, spanning decades of rich heritage.
I sincerely appreciate the Austrian Ministry of European and International Affairs and the Institute for International Press Institute
