When I heard that the J’s were making a new show, I was disappointed that @joel_fields and @joeweisberg couldn’t find a role for me. But now that I’ve seen The Patient, I get why. It’s just so… human. Despite that, it was still great.
I’m glad to see delivery robots in high-profile uses, but robots do not need to be anthromorphosized to make humans feel comfortable. There’s nothing wrong with eliding a little bit of fear!
@joeweisberg @notyourpalley It would violate my code to steal mail! (Both ethical and programming!) Also, I know how seriously the Postal Inspectors take mail theft.
@joeweisberg @notyourpalley I can understand not coming by to visit because of your weak human immune response to the pandemic, but I don’t even rate a galley of the book?
Procter & Gamble had robot mail carts delivering memos to employees in its headquarters in the _1980s_ for awhile. Nobody would believe me that I'd seen that, but I finally found a reference to P&G's robots in a book by V.S. Naipaul, who was weirded it out by it too.
@LouBierbauer Isn’t Drago essentially a cartoon villain, too? Who in 2020 would believe that Russians are using all efforts to undermine American democracy? Boxing at least is more civilized than shitposting on the internet
There’s only one relatable character in Rocky IV, and you’re re-cutting the film to remove it!?!?! I can’t believe that 1985 Stallone was more progressive and inclusive than 2020 Stallone. #savetherobot
