To frontline RDNs, whether you have been providing feedings in COVID ICUs, navigating staff shortages & supply chains issues in foodservice, or connecting those who are food insecure with resources, YOU ARE AMAZING.#RDNDay

Thank you for meeting with our @UVMCALS research team again this morning @LtGovGray. We appreciate your continued interest in our data on food security, home food production, & health outcomes in VT during COVID https://t.co/ecMSBJl5LC @MeredithNiles1@EmilyHBelarmino@uvmvermont
new #preprint from our #NFACT team @UVMCALS tracking 440 Vermonters over the 1st year of #COVID19. 31% food insecure at some point, BIPOC 10X, women 7X, households w/ kids 5X greater odds of food insecurity @FBertmann@EmilyHBelarmino https://t.co/XjEjQzI8Eq
New work from our team @FBertmann@EmilyHBelarmino where we tracked a group of Vermonters over the first year of the pandemic. Food insecurity went down from the height of the pandemic, but was higher than before the pandemic at 18% among our respondents in March 2021 #NFACT
Our #NFACT@uvmvermont team found that food banks and pantries support individual and households’ food access, potentially maintaining food security and diet quality during emergencies like COVID-19. https://t.co/obKuf70bDv @MeredithNiles1@EmilyHBelarmino @UVMCALS
@MeredithNiles1@MeredithNiles1 My recent Practice Paper is behind a paywall. At this point, I wonder if I am reaching more students, practitioners, academics, and policy makers through related curriculum, panels, and webinars.
Meeting the needs and professional goals of our students, check out our updated UVM Nutrition & Food Science major with concentrations in:

Home food procurement (gardening, hunting, etc.) during #COVID19 really did increase! More likely among food insecure, #BIPOC, job loss, and larger households. Linked with higher fruit/veg intake, but only for food secure @FBertmann@EmilyHBelarmino#NFACT https://t.co/DueIFfaebc
Our JAND Professional Practice paper is live; what an incredible, rewarding experience working with this fierce, brilliant research team to craft an article on the Risk of Homemade Infant Formula for our fellow RDNs and Nutritionists. https://t.co/zMTkCeulyR #foodsecurity#rdchat
