The clock tower is becoming more emblematic of Mecca than the Kaaba. You can notice this in merchandise and paraphernalia about the city in which it increasingly takes center stage as the most notable physical landmark of the city. This was inevitable since it was designed and constructed in a way that completely decentered the Kaaba architecturally as a focal point. Even worse than that the tower and surrounding caters solely to an elite global consumer class (as well as people mesmerized by Western mass market KFC slop) which furthers the obvious class stratification at a place where everyone is ostensibly equal.

Also, the CFP language is the “top five conference champions receive an auto bid.” There’s four Power leagues, so the G5 gets its best conference champion in (will 9/10 times be as the #12 seed), not some fourth place schlub off the street. So this notion of “G5 auto bid” is also flatly inaccurate.
