This is the doom I predicted a few days ago, coming for Photoshop. A clean-room open-source reimplementation.
No prizes for guessing that they decompiled Photoshop to source code, processed that to some kind of non-code specification language, then fed the spec to an LLM with an instruction to generate Rust.
Adobe just got nuked. And closed source is dead, dead, dead.

Kafka is powerful, but inspecting topics shouldn't be a pain. 🛑
I built StreamLupe: a lightweight, native Kafka explorer for devs who hate heavy tools.
✅ SQL-powered queries
✅ Real-time streaming
✅ One-click local Kafka

I am not sure if other developers feel like this.
But I feel kinda depressed.
Like everyone else, I have been using Claude code (for a while, it’s not a recent thing lol).
And it’s incredible. I have never found coding more fun.
The stuff you can do and the speed you can do it at now. Is absolutely insane.
And I’m using it to ship a lot. And solve customer problems faster.
So all around it’s a win.
But at the same time. The skill I spent 10,000s of hours getting good at. Programming.
The thing I spent most of my life getting good at.
Is becoming a full commodity extremely quickly.
As much fun as it is. And as much as I like using the tools.
There’s something disheartening about the thing you spent most of your life getting good at.
Now being mostly useless.
i migrated all my next.js projects from vercel to hetzner vps with dokploy
was paying $20/month, now €8/month for a CX21 server
@getdokploy is really nice and simple:
- push to git
- builds with docker
- traefik handles routing
- monitoring and logs
i switched to cloudflare for dns and caching, sites actually load faster now
the server is in nürnberg where i live only a few km distance
Kafka is powerful but painful. https://t.co/HgZCk3vw2z makes it powerful AND pleasant - visual cluster management that your entire team can actually use 🚀
What if managing Kafka clusters was intuitive? We're building a visual management tool that makes Kafka simple.
✅ Multi-cluster management
✅ Real-time monitoring
✅ SQL-like queries
✅ Zero dependencies

Tried solving a code problem with ChatGPT-5. It suggested a few solutions, I just replied “No.”
Suddenly it starts pulling responses from an old chat on a totally unrelated topic.
Best model ever?
It's important to remember that "technology influencers" can be bad role models. Many encourage people to be "fans of technology" instead of actual developers of technology.
Hot takes are easy, writing good code is not.
