I always thought sitting in rows was unacceptable and detrimental. But then again, I also thought students guessing words using pictures was helping them learn to read.

It was a meaningful night celebrating the virtues and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The FCCS chorus sang a rousing rendition of "Over My Head (I Hear Music in the Air.") while an enthusiastic audience clapped in rhythm. Congrats B.D. for being our award winner!

To kick off Spirit/Red Ribbon Week, today was "Soak the Principal" day, a reward for students exceeding expectations with the recent Read-a-thon. Acting Principal Max Fletcher was a tremendously good sport and hammed it up for each class. Students were delighted.😊

Icebreaker for welcome-back staff mtg tomorrow: Write 3 words/phrases that represent something personal, but in a back-door way to mislead the context. Staff walk around holding sign, pair up 3 times. Pick a word on the other's sign & hear its true story to learn about the other.
