Why a Democratic trifecta matters:
Paid sick leave — now law.
Paid family medical leave — now law.
$15 minimum wage — now law.
Democrats govern: workers finally get a fair shot.

(½) Today the Supreme Court of Virginia has chosen to put politics over the rule of law by issuing a ruling that overturns the April 21st special election on redistricting.
Today’s Supreme Court decision in Louisiana vs. Callais is a direct attack on Black voters and marks a shameful moment in our democracy. This ruling opens the door to racial gerrymandering that will take us back to Jim Crow. This ruling is a betrayal of Black voters and the promise of democracy. We will not stay silent.

LANDMARK DECISION — The Supreme Court has narrowed Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act with their decision in Louisiana v. Callais, opening the door to sweeping redistricting changes across the South that could erase up to 10 majority-Black seats and flip them from blue to red.
Congratulations, Virginia! Republicans are trying to tilt the midterm elections in their favor, but they haven’t done it yet. Thanks for showing us what it looks like to stand up for our democracy and fight back.
The April 21 Referendum passed because people showed up and stayed engaged.
Even in the face of disinformation, Black voters in Fairfax County and across Virginia made their voices heard.
We celebrate the win. We stay ready for what’s next.
The civil rights movement is not a prop. The blood and sacrifice of those who marched, who were beaten, who died for the right to vote will not be hijacked by shadowy GOP operatives to deceive the very communities it was meant to protect.
VOTE YES by April 21st!
#OnThisDay in 1965, 600 marchers were attacked on #Selma’s Edmund Pettus Bridge during a Voting Rights protest. Known as #BloodySunday, this march was one of 3 from Selma to Montgomery. More: https://t.co/OIqWpgi0OS #APeoplesJourney#ANationsStory
Congratulations to all the Democratic candidates who won tonight. It’s a reminder that when we come together around strong, forward-looking leaders who care about the issues that matter, we can win. We’ve still got plenty of work to do, but the future looks a little bit brighter.
