An early season view of how Coach @nico_estevez_ has managed to shore up the defense and maintain offensive output since he took charge of Los Toros.

@peet2 Given the midfield need, the Hunts should be crucified by media, supporters groups, and all fans if they allow this and can’t provide a matching offer.

@MLS_Box2Box This is fair - I assume they will start to slowly peel some rules back, but you can see why they still have many restrictions in place. Revenue is wildly different, and they would be mistaken to go non-parity and try to compete with EPL and others.
@MLS_Box2Box That's actually the most sensical thing - Vancouver isn't bringing in a ton of revenue and can't afford to greatly raise roster restrictions. Many MLS fans enjoy the parity that means LAFC doesn't get to spend more to win the Cup each season.
The biggest signing in FC Dallas History.
We have signed 25-year-old Croatian forward Petar Musa to a four-year DP contract with a club option. The transfer represents the largest acquisition fee in franchise history.

@Altavistagoogle Yes, but it's still likely $7mil+ per year for each club. Makes the top prize money for either competition (which only goes to the champion, instead of each club) look pretty small and the earlier round rewards seem like peanuts.
🇺🇸 FC Dallas have signed documents for Petar Musa deal from Benfica, done and sealed.
€10m plus €3m add-ons, Musa joining FC Dallas training camp on Thursday.
“So he’s a 25 year old Croatian striker who is 6’3 and plays for one of the biggest teams in Portugal. He’s got some European teams after him but I think we can bring him to Frisco!”
Sources: FC Dallas pursuing Croatia int’l forward Petar Musa from Benfica. Nothing agreed. Musa considering offers from Europe too. TBD.
Musa, 25, 17g/5a in 1,930 mins with Benfica. Six caps for Croatia.
Likely in region of FCD’s club record fee ($7m)

On this date 20 years ago, MLS forced #FCDallas to trade the #1 pick so DC could draft Freddy Adu.
Publically #DTID agreed but privately they were righteously pissed. They planned to take Chad Marshall 1st overall.
Yes, 3x MLS Defender of the Year, 4x MLS Best XI Marshall.
