I don’t know who needs to hear this, but just because you didn’t receive cards and gifts from students for “Teacher Appreciation” does NOT mean that your students and their parents/guardians don’t appreciate you.

This #TeacherAppreciationWeek, we celebrate the people who nurture, empower and inspire every day, even during the longest school year ever.
Thank you educators for believing in students, helping them believe in themselves & always fighting for better. #ThankATeacher#WeAreCTA
If you’re about to sign off for the weekend, thank the labor movement. Unions fought for—and won—the 40-hour work week, the minimum wage, and an end to child labor. So understand this: an attack on unions is an attack on all working people.
When I walk in a school, I don’t just observe to see if front office or teachers are happy. I observe custodians, cafeteria workers, everyone. Because building positive school culture means everyone is valued & appreciated. And it shows!
One week after @htedcollective filed for union recognition, High Tech High management fired a 4-year veteran teacher & member of the union organizing committee in apparent retaliation.
Sign the petition calling for his reinstatement immediately. #WeAreCTA https://t.co/5iBfRjfoXd
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 3-7th. Let's show our appreciation by putting up a heart during this week. Share your pictures. #TeacherAppreciationWeek#WeAreCTA
Students remember teachers not programs. Tell FCUSD Board to:
• Invest in a fair financial settlement #RecruitRetain the highest quality educators for our students
• Provide an environment where teachers are valued and respected #RedforEd#WeAreCTA
Irony is people attacking teachers by saying that they “don’t care about the kids,” when, for many of us, the ONLY reason we stay in education (in spite of the impossible expectations, low pay, unpaid hours, buying supplies, etc.) is because we care so much about our students.
FCEA is wearing #RedforEd. We are United #WeAreCTA#RetainRecruit highly qualified educators to FCUSD by offering better, competitive salaries and benefits. Stop putting our educators LAST!
We wrote you a haiku for #NationalHaikuPoetryDay to celebrate you and thank you for all you do:
𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙨
𝘼 𝙫𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩
𝙊𝙪𝙧 𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙝𝙤𝙥𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪
What haiku inspires you today?
The best administrators are like the best teachers. They rarely get the accolades they deserve because they don’t seek them but rather are seeking to make those around them better.
