From building birdhouses, learning about creepy crawlies with our wonderful volunteer Jane, and challenging ourselves to a wildlife treasure hunt, we all celebrated the importance of nature and biodiversity. π³

Cooked carrots are better than raw carrots as cooking increases the level of beta-carotene which is converted into vitamin A.
Vitamin A helps us make hormones and keeps our eyes healthy. That's why they say carrots help you see in the dark!

LED lightbulbs are an efficient way to save energy when having your lights on, and with some LED lightbulbs you can turn them on remotely and choose from a variety of colors and lighting! π‘
Testing our knowledge of the Northumbrian Dialect, solving some tricky anagrams on Northumberland Castles and giving out some carlin pea packets were just some of the activities we got up to in this Afternoon Tea! π΅

On Tuesday, we held our third Energy Saving Event in Newbiggin Family Hub. β‘
We also learned some useful energy saving tips. Using a dishwasher with a full load actually uses less energy and water than washing up the same dishes by hand.
