"As a result, many of the arguments before us today follow a sadly familiar pattern. Yes, promises were made, but the price of keeping them has become too great, so now we should just cast a blind eye. We reject that thinking."

Washington, a majority-of color jurisdiction, is the only capital of a democratic nation that denies its residents a vote in the federal legislature. It's time for #DCStatehood now! #FaithfulDemocracy
This is a HUGE deal. For the first time in history, a chamber of Congress has passed legislation to give DC residents the representation they deserve! 🎉🎉 https://t.co/2xYzH5NLn8
We call on Congress to pass legislation that protects dreamers without adding enforcement, detention, or border wall funding. We urge the Senate to follow the House's initiative and swiftly pass the Dream and Promise Act (H.R 6).
Now we call on the Trump administration to IMMEDIATELY reinstate the full #DACA program, and for Congress to pass PERMANENT solutions that help without hurting communities.
FCNL rejoices in the #SCOTUS decision. For 6 years, #DACA has provided relief from deportation to hundreds of thousands of dreamers. Congratulations to all the immigrants, family members, and advocates who have worked hard for this moment.
THREAD: Today the #SCOTUS ruled in favor of immigrant youth and against the administration's wish to end #DACA. This victory upholds our values and call to care for and protect all, especially immigrant young people. #HomeisHere
DACA has provided relief, safety, and the opportunity to thrive to many dreamers. FCNL believes that #lovingthyneighbor means protecting our immigrant communities including protecting DACA recipients. Tune into the #Faith4DACA virtual vigil organized by the @interfaithimm.

The border wall is damaging communities, sacred lands, the environment and wildlife. We joined @NETWORKLobby, @franciscannet, @FaithfulAmerica, and 17 other organizations in calling on Congress to mitigate the profound harms of border wall construction. https://t.co/8PfzIlKkVE
.@DianeFCNL @FCNLJustice: "Dreamers, Temporary Protected Status recipients, and asylum seekers need congressional protection and a real pathway to citizenship, not more stepped-up and aggressive immigration enforcement.”
📣 Let’s be clear: receiving a public benefit doesn’t automatically make you a “public charge”.

#ProtectFamilies
No one should be afraid to keep their family healthy. But that’s exactly what the administration's public charge rule is built on: Fear.
It’s up to all of us to #ProtectFamilies by sharing the facts.

Our tax dollars should not pay for immigrants’ suffering! The #NewWayForward Act ends mandatory detention, closes for-profit detention centers, and challenges the jail to deportation pipeline. #CommunitiesNotCages
In 20 years, the number of federal criminal prosecutions for immigration issues increased by 579 percent! The law had clear intentions to discriminate people based on race and ensure automatic deportation. #NewWayForward Act would end these discriminatory practices.
Unfair laws that criminalize immigrants are part of the broader crisis of racial profiling and mass incarceration which targets black people and communities of color. The #NewWayForward Act is an important part of the solution.
It’s time for our immigration system to center humanity, due process, and compassion, rather than cruelty and profit. It’s time to end the criminalization of immigrants. The #NewWayForward Act upholds these values.
