@FeldwoodCST @GSUEdLead I agree that effective Principals need to be able to do it all. I think the productive climate aspect sums up everything. Without this, the other aspects will struggle...and students may struggle too.
@CatieSimpson47 Definitely! I think an open door is important too, but creating a safe environment in the school for the learning of all students is indeed imperative.
Cultivating trust is a critical skill for a Principal. Trust from a Principal down throughout a school positively affects student performance. Teachers who feel empowered have high levels of trust with their Principals!

@pekatos I agree 100%. So many good teachers leave our profession, but a strong Principal will recruit, and retain teachers through continued development and support for all their staff, especially their teachers.
From a Science background, I love Grissom, Egalyte, & Lindsay's empirical approach at assessing the effect of a Principal (2021). The gains in student achievement by a great building leader are clearly evident in multiple studies.

@CatieSimpson47 Quality teacher retention is so important! I think strong leaders must create the support structure to keep their teachers while advancing all student achievement.
Policies have shifted Leadership focus! Now, (2015-) the PSELs direct Leader attention to data for all, including the underrepresented, & the diversity in student learning...equity!

@pekatos Great Communication and Strong relationships are essential for Leadership in Education, and all things at all levels of K-12 Education! Another book for my reading list...
@CatieSimpson47 I have heard much about this book too. I will definitively be reading it soon as I look to support schools in their Science teacher retention for next year.
Happy New Year #GSUEdlead!
Steven Moody, Science Director, FCS. One book that I recommend for all is Mindset, The New Psychology of Success.
A great book for all aspect of life as well as Education that focusses on the 'not yet'!

@coachingharrell Wow, powerful post!
I had not really thought of creating that environment. I do not not think I have but I will be checking...thanks Jeff!

Great post about how quickly you respond and how others judge your sincerity!
A study shows that delaying an answer can be judged less sincere by others; even a brief pause made people seem less genuine. #GSUEdLead
@d_kinoshita1 I totally agree! It can so easily be seen as unruly even if meant with the best intentions. I think at least finding out the why in the workplace is essential.

@FeldwoodCST @GSUEdLead I totally agree that we need to hear all the voices from all the stakeholders in order to make the right decision(s). I think we also need to be the voice for some stakeholders that may not be heard by all.
