Everyday you hear “study during the weekend.”

But you’re still confused about what that actually means?

Then this post is for you ↴

Studying doesn’t always mean learning something new.

Sometimes the best study session is going back to your trades from the previous week and asking yourself simple questions.

➣ Why did I lose this trade?

➣ Was there a lapse in the pattern/setup I normally trade?

➣ Was my analysis correct but my execution poor?

➣ Did I enter too early?

➣ Did I ignore confirmation?

➣ Did I break one of my own rules?

You’d be surprised how much progress you can make just by properly reviewing your own mistakes.

The goal when studying is to know whether the problem came from your strategy or from YOU not executing the strategy properly.

Then you start to prepare for the new week.

Mark out your important levels before the market starts moving.

This is roughly how I like to break mine down:

➣ Weekly TF: Overall market structure and any important dealing range.

➣ Daily TF: Identify the major targets price could potentially trade towards.

➣ Hourly TF: Major KeyLevels, Understand the current orderflow and how price is delivering within the higher timeframe idea.

➣ M15, M30 & H1: for Refining your entries and waiting for your confirmations.

By the time the new week begins, you shouldn’t be opening your chart completely clueless and trying to figure everything out in real time.

You should already have an idea of:

➣ Where price is.
➣ Where price could be going.
➣ What levels matter.
➣ And what exactly you need to see before taking a trade.

That is studying too.

Weekend study is not about consuming another 10 hours of trading content every Saturday and Sunday.

Sometimes you already know enough.

You just need to review better, prepare better and execute better.
