October 20. 2026 (Philadelphia, PA) Today a funeral service was held at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul for Slain Philadelphia Police Officer Shane Seiber, 40. He is remembered by his wife, Lisa, and their two children, Finn and Emily. Seiber, the 10-year veteran officer, was shot and killed in West Philadelphia after responding to a report of a man with a gun, police said. Recorded at the scene of yesterday's fatal shooting inside the 7th Avenue station at 53rd Street in Manhattan. So far as I'm aware, the gunman still hasn't been caught.

NYC Subway Shooting update: at approximately 1221 hours, an unidentified individual approached an unidentified male on the northbound E train platform at the 53 Street/7 Avenue subway station, displayed a firearm and discharged it, striking the victim once in the chest. EMS responded and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was pronounced deceased. The identity of the deceased is pending at this time. The sought individual is described as a male. He was last seen wearing a red tracksuit, a black vest, and a black face mask, and carrying a backpack. @NYCEMSwatch @NYCMayor @MTA

1) A warm front brings showers early today, with a strong cold front bringing a line of heavier showers and a few strong, to possibly severe thunderstorms briefly during this evening. Any storms could bring strong, gusty winds. A few isolated damaging
wind gusts are possible with any severe storms.

The FDNY kicked off National Fire Prevention Week at Rockefeller Center. The FDNY swore in 190 junior Firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). The junior Firefighters and EMTs will pledge an oath designed to remind children to practice fire safety and share it with their family and friends. Students will have the opportunity to interact and view demonstrations with FDNY members.
