FIA banned the inerter in 2022, on the grounds of cost reduction 🚫

The problem was that neither the FIA nor most teams predicted the porpoising
The Inerter would have been the perfect weapon to fight it! (By having different stiffnesses at lower and higher frequencies)

By mistake, the FIA didn’t activate overtake mode in SQ1 after the red flag. This serious issue massively limited straight-line performance (~10 km/h top speed loss). Crucially, it was then reactivated for 27s, unfairly advantaging those who could exploit it!

Look at OCO:
⬛️ L5 (Issue)
🟧 L8 (OK)

His high-speed acceleration (lower plot) dropped massively → 11-12 km/h top speed loss
ALB, STR, and LIN are the most likely to have lost SQ2 access because of this, and SAI to a lesser extent

We're 'lucky' that the championship is practically decided; otherwise, issues like this could impact it...

@Mp24Rossi @F1 They are not cheating, but we had some instances of incompetence from the FIA side, even when taking into account the complexity of this rule change
