During liver hilum dissection in deceased donor procurement, take care not to overlook an RHA arising from the GDA. It can mimic a replaced RHA from the SMA, but usually runs lateral and anterior to the CBD. After dividing the supraduodenal veins, always check the GDA.
Our recent publication found that nearly 1 in 4 patients on KRT in South Africa have glomerular disease as the underlying cause—driven by secondary forms, especially diabetes. @razeendavids@ISNkidneycare@sa_nephro@AfricanAFRAN

My book in the @guardian today:
"Chasing Freedom is an elegant exploration of how political liberation does not always bring freedom for oneself... It asks what it means to stand up to the past without being trapped by it"

🚨 MASSIVE STATEMENT BY RICKY PONTING ON ZIMBABWE INCREDIBLE PERFORMANCE 🚨
Ricky Ponting Said 🗣️
“First they knocked Australia out of the tournament by beating them, and now they have defeated Sri Lanka. I had already said that the Zimbabwe team would surprise everyone this time. If they reach the semifinals or even the final of this World Cup, it won’t be surprising; because their players’ confidence is now at its peak.”
It has been an amazing transplant year at Mayo Clinic in Arizona.
We surpassed the volume of previous years. Our abdominal transplant programs completed milestones in liver (322), kidney (506), kidney/pancreas (52), and pancreas alone (2). New innovations abound - robotic kidney transplantation and living donation, machine perfusion of organs, advances in organ retrieval, transplant oncology, training and educational excellence, and research initiatives that will shape the future of transplantation.
Our programs have continued to provide our patients with excellence in clinical outcomes, hope, and unparalleled experience.
It is always gratifying to hear from patients that “it just works so well here at Mayo” which is a milestone in and of itself.
Just a reminder to my surgeon colleagues…data show patients prefer surgeons in scrubs as compared to other attire in both ambulatory & inpatient settings
So save your money on those fancy suits! 😁
