1/ This is infuriating. We have the time and money, apparently, to expediently REMOVE a crosswalk, but it takes years to get around to actually painting one. No wonder neighbors took it upon themselves to act. @SeattleDOTr@KromanDavid

In the 1920s car companies introduced the term "jaywalking" as part of their attempt to shift blame for pedestrian deaths.
Jaywalking laws today are over-enforced in BIPOC communities and do little to make pedestrians safer. It's time for them to go.

In 2021 @FEETFIRST_WA celebrated the John Lewis Memorial Bridge, culminating a decade-long effort to provide access for people who walk and roll across I-5 to and from Northgate's light rail station. Help us keep working by donating to our annual appeal - https://t.co/BUZpgXWWZy
Thanks to all who pointed out the inconsistency between our job posting & our values. The posting now reflects that it does not require a driver's license or access to a car.
Feet First is looking for people who want to make WA accessible for all. No license or car required

There is absolutely space to center youth experiences navigating our streets, and they're likely equipped with all the tools our leaders are too afraid to use #TheKidsAreAlright
Just presented to the @HIPRC Summer INSIGHT program where high schoolers are analyzing ped injuries/fatality data according to street design. Super impressed with the depth of their questions re: how and why are streets are designed for speed!
Our new intersection at Three Trails Crossing, on Gilman Boulevard, is now open. This is Issaquah’s first scramble crossing, which means pedestrians and cyclists will now have their own dedicated light cycle to cross in any direction! 🚲🚶
Let’s talk about slip lanes, those right turn lanes that prioritize vehicle speed over safety. As drivers enter slip lanes their eyes are most often looking down the street, searching for an opening in traffic not straight ahead where pedestrians and cyclists may be crossing 1/12
