Never seen a police operation like this before, anywhere. Democratic and Republican elected officials have been absolutely explicit about it: the action was precipitated by the students’ allegedly “anti-Semitic” and “violent” political speech. A travesty for the First Amendment
@JakeCathelineau@revenant_MMXX These were all made by Blepp iirc did he ever make a new account? His particular brand of Lutheran National Socialist shitposting was very compelling.
If you’re arresting them for an illegal encampment or for making threats then say that. But arresting people for “antisemitism” is obviously a clear violation of the First Amendment. I can’t stand these protesters but you can’t arrest people simply for having “hateful” views.

If prosecutors and judges are going to engage in financial and political warfare on their enemies, the doctrines of immunity (which protect them from lawsuits for actions they take in their official capacities) must be relaxed. Those doctrines rest on the idea that they behave as public servants, with an eye toward objective justice. But someone like the Trump judge in NY or Fanni Willis will only behave appropriately if they feel risk for overreach. And they probably won’t even behave then - but bankrupting them would send a powerful message.
