This "historic" deal is much ado about nothing.

MIT published a brutally honest report on what AI is doing to students.

A committee of professors and students spent five months studying how AI changed learning on campus, and the findings read like a warning to every university on the planet.

Study groups are disappearing. Office hours are emptying out. Problem sets and take-home exams no longer prove anything, because AI can produce credible solutions to almost any written assignment in the undergraduate curriculum. Students who lean on chatbots lose mastery and confidence, and some slip into what the report calls cognitive surrender, reaching for AI at the first hint of struggle.

The numbers are rough. 46 percent of surveyed MIT undergrads use LLMs daily. 90 percent worry about their own overreliance. Undergrads who feel AI makes them replaceable now outnumber those who feel it makes them capable.

The committee's answer surprised me. They refused to fight AI with surveillance. The report calls AI detectors unreliable, says lockdown browsers feel like spying, and warns that policing students builds a classroom atmosphere of mutual distrust.

Instead, MIT wants to rebuild education around the things AI can't replace. That means oral exams, semester portfolios, in-person project work, and a required social component in every subject. The report even floats the idea of rethinking grades entirely, since without a GPA to optimize, much of the incentive to cheat with AI evaporates.

The committee warns professors against replacing undergrad research assistants with AI agents just because they're cheaper, because a university exists to grow people, not output.

The most famous tech school on earth admitted the machines broke its way of teaching. Its answer is more humans, not more software.

When I was deployed, my Afghan interpreter saved my life and the lives of my troops during an operation in a remote location outside the wire.

My interpreter was able to let me know that the Taliban had gotten intelligence that we were in the village and would arrive any minute to kill or capture us.

Exactly 8 minutes after we left the village, the Taliban showed up to kill us. Had it not been for my Afghan interpreter, I would not be here today.

For years I wrote letters to get all of my interpreters here to the United States. We made a promise to our Afghan allies, people who risked their lives and their families lives everyday to help us, that if they worked with us we would protect them and get them to safety.

It is the most unpatriotic and dishonorable thing we could ever do to go back on that promise. La noticia no informa: construye una conclusión para desacreditar a la UFERCO. Suma el presupuesto de tres fiscalías, suma sus resultados y luego coloca a la UFERCO en el centro del titular, haciendo creer que recibió L450 millones y que solo produjo una condena. Eso es, como mínimo, una comparación metodológicamente engañosa.

Pero hay algo más grave: se pretende medir la lucha contra las redes de corrupción únicamente por el número de sentencias, ignorando que una Fiscalía investiga y acusa, mientras la decisión final corresponde a jueces y tribunales. ¿También contabilizaron los casos archivados, sobreseídos, paralizados o frenados durante años por decisiones judiciales? ¿Explican cuántos casos de corrupción de alto impacto fueron debilitados por el sistema de justicia o permanecen “archivados”, como Hermes, Arca Abierta, Red de Diputados, Caja Chica del Hermano, entre otros? ¿Han investigado cuántos casos quedaron investigados y listos para ser presentados ante los tribunales?

La UFERCO heredó investigaciones de la UFECIC-MACCIH y enfrentó redes de corrupción enquistadas en el poder político y económico. El problema nunca fue solamente la Fiscalía: es un sistema de justicia que durante décadas ha permitido que la corrupción avance y que los casos se desgasten en los tribunales. Desacreditar a quienes investigan las redes de corrupción sin explicar esos obstáculos institucionales es una forma muy conveniente de ocultar el verdadero problema: un sistema que históricamente ha sido mucho más eficaz protegiendo la impunidad que castigando la corrupción. @HCHTelevDigital @FrenteaFrenteHN @Canal6Honduras @unetv_hn @RadioProgresoHN
