Another week has come for us to expand our vocabulary! Today's word is:
Gentrification /jentrəfəˈkāSH(ə)n/
Its verb form, gentrify, and its reduced (noun) form gentry, come from the Anglo-Norman gentil or genterie which describes people that are rich but below the nobility.
It's another week, and we're here to provide you another word!
Indigent /ˈindəjənt/
Originally Latin indigent “lacking” from indigere “into needing” via Old French vocabulary.

It is once again the start of a new week, meaning today a new word will be unlocked.
Folklore /ˈfōklôr/
Folk has a Germanic origin, with volk being its Dutch and German cognates; lore bears the same origins as well, associated with Old English lar, Dutch leer, and German lehre.
Another week calls for another WOTW! Today’s word is:
Kowtow /ˌkouˈtou/
It has Chinese origins: in Mandarin it is ketou, and Cantonese kautau which means “to knock the head”. Historically, vassals of China come to the palace and kneel towards the emperor to honor him.
Our word of the week is back! For today’s word is:
Throbbing /ˈTHräbiNG/
Strongly rhythmic beating, pulsating.
Origins are unknown, but it is speculated to be an onomatopeia or an imitative in Middle English.
